Role Overview: As a Storage and Backup Administrator, the role is to ensure a fault-tolerant and efficient SAN infrastructure, providing effective storage solutions while implementing a robust backup system to safeguard data in case of disasters.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provision, operate, and maintain enterprise storage systems from various OEMs.
– Monitor storage system capacity, performance, and availability to ensure uptime and reliability.
– Apply regular security patches and firmware updates to maintain system integrity.
– Plan and implement storage expansions or upgrades based on capacity and performance requirements.
– Configure and manage backup systems, software, and hardware solutions.
– Develop and enforce backup policies, procedures, and strategies to protect organizational data from loss or corruption.
– Implement solutions aligned with industry best practices.
– Maintain comprehensive documentation of backup systems, procedures, and configurations.
– Generate and present reports on backup performance, compliance status, and data recovery metrics to stakeholders and management.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have:
– Experience: 5-7 Years
– Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining Enterprise Storage Solutions (e.g., Hitachi, NetApp, HPE).
– Expertise in configuring and operating Commvault Enterprise Data Backup solutions.
– Ability to analyze storage system utilization, throughput, and latency, and implement performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance.
– Experience in preparing, updating, and maintaining operations documentation for servers, virtualized platforms, Linux OS, and hardware systems.
– Skilled in coordinating with vendors to ensure timely installation/replacement of hardware at various data centers.
– Knowledge of Data Center Passive Infrastructure connectivity.
– OEM certifications in relevant fields (a plus).
– Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across diverse teams.
– Adaptability to rapidly changing environments and technologies.
– Clear communication with strong leadership and emotional intelligence.
– Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
